The Project:

The historic Valley Ford Creamery is undergoing a wonderful transformation. The goal for the project is to fully realize the incredible potential available in a building with more then 20,000 sq/ ft. Located in a truly inspiring rural setting on the western Sonoma / Marin county line in northern California, this almost 100-year-old historic building is sure to become a destination as this areas premier artist studio complex. All County approvals and permits are in hand. Creating the community of working artists/artisans is all that remains. If you are interested in a studio space, or would like any additional information. Please contact the Valley Ford Creamery studio project.

Due to the very large size of this project, the remodeling and reconstruction process has been divided into 3 separate phases.

Phase 1 studios are being offered for rent. The phase has over-all a total of more than 7000 sq. ft. available for studio space. Phase 1 is presented as a possible three studios offering a rare opportunity for large to very large studio space. This is a pre-construction offering, allowances to the specific tenant requirements can easily be considered. Occupancy is set for September 2006. (see Studios)

Phase 2 will provide the next 7,250 sq. ft. of professional studio space. This area of the building will be designed to accommodate those looking for smaller studio spaces. The final division of this area and number of spaces has yet to be determined. Architecture and engineering are set to begin in early 2006. Occupancy: June 2007.

Phase 3 develops the main entrance to the Creamery, which opens into our cathedral-like Atrium/Gallery space. This central Atrium/Gallery space will provide interior access to all of the artist studios. At almost 3000 sq. ft. with 19 ft. high walls, is available to Creamery occupants for private events such as: art openings, exhibits, classes, workshops and demonstrations, rehearsals, performances, movies, dinners, parties, and dances. Phase 3 also includes another 3000 sq. ft. of beautiful private studio spaces.

The surrounding landscape has remained unchanged for the last 50 years, and in keeping with Sonoma County’s General Plan, will not be subject to further commercial or residential development. Valley Ford is “big sky” country in the protected watershed of the Estero Americano.

Participants in the Valley Ford Creamery studio community will enjoy 24-hour access to the most spacious multiple occupancy building in western Sonoma County. This project presents a rare opportunity for individuals or groups interested in working amidst a deeply peaceful setting, and in proximity with others who seek the same kind of environment.
